FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EMBODIPOLE

Our pole studio policy & important information

Where are you located?

EmbodiPole and Sensual Arts is located at 85 Plymouth Street, unit B001 – Across the street from Drummond’s Gas on Bronson St. We are in the same building as RE/MAX.

What’s your cancellation and refund policy?

There are no refunds or make-up classes for any series.

Do you offer drop-in classes?

Since our classes are series (meaning 4 or 8-week sessions), we cannot offer drop-in classes. It’s best to sign up for 4 classes so you can get the full experience and learn in progression.

Can I make up a pole class if I miss it?

Since we are series-based, we review everything from the previous class so if you end up missing a class, you can always practice the moves during open pole. We cannot offer make-up classes.

What do I wear to class?

For Intro to Pole, we recommend an outfit that makes you feel good and a water bottle. No shoes needed; you will be barefoot or in socks.

For our Heels Series, heels and knee pads are recommended. If you do not own knee pads, we have some for rent. *Members get discounts on Pleaser Heels.

Do I need upper body strength to get started with pole dancing?

No! You build strength as you go. We start with the very basics by learning transitions and spins and gradually learn how to climb and invert on the pole.

Are all pole and embodiment coaches certified?

Yes! All of our coaching staff are certified under Pole Teacher Training, and some carry more specialty certifications (like Pre/Postnatal Pole Specialist, Somatic Educator, Feminine Embodiment Coach, Personal Training, Registered Yoga Teacher, etc.). Want to become a Coach at EmbodiPole? Fill out the application here.

Is there a weight limit to your poles?

Absolutely NOT! Our poles are permanent and are rated for 1000lbs+. All shapes, sizes, abilities, and ages are welcome.

How many students are in each class?

For Pole Dancing Classes, we have 8 poles, so everyone has their own pole. For floor classes, we limit the capacity to 12 students.

I’m pregnant, can I still participate?

Yes! Our staff are certified to teach Pre/Postnatal Pole and can modify any moves as needed. For anyone without previous pole experience, we don’t recommend starting pole while pregnant.

Is this studio only open to women?

We use embodiment practices while addressing the unique challenges and circumstances of modern women, making this studio particularly relevant for those who identify as women.

We use terms like feminine and masculine energy (which are not gender-specific) and the concept of connecting to the womb (which everyone has either physically or energetically). Anyone who resonates with the messaging is welcome.
