FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EMBODIPOLE

Our pole studio policy & important information

Where are you located?

EmbodiPole and Sensual Arts is located at 85 Plymouth Street, unit B001 – Across the street from Drummond’s Gas on Bronson St. We are in the same building as RE/MAX.

What’s your cancellation and refund policy?

There are no refunds or make-ups for any workshops.

Can I drop-in to classes as a non-member?

No. EmbodiPole is a women-only, membership-based studio, and we do not offer drop-in classes for non-members.

All students begin with the Intro Experience, which allows you to explore our approach, teaching style, and community before continuing into membership. This structure helps us maintain a safe, consistent, and supportive environment for everyone in the space.

If you’re curious about joining, the Intro Experience is the best place to start.

What do I wear to class?

For the Intro Experience, wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and feel good in your body.

No shoes are needed, you’ll be barefoot or in socks.

Please bring a water bottle.

For safety, we ask that you remove rings and avoid using hand lotion before class.

Do I need upper body strength to get started with pole dancing?

No! You build strength as you go. We start with the very basics by learning transitions and spins and gradually learn how to climb and invert on the pole.

Are all pole and embodiment coaches certified?

Yes! All of our coaching staff are certified under Pole Teacher Training, and some carry more specialty certifications (like Pre/Postnatal Pole Specialist, Somatic Educator, Feminine Embodiment Coach, Personal Training, Registered Yoga Teacher, etc.). Want to become a Coach at EmbodiPole? Fill out the application here.

Is there a weight limit to your poles?

Absolutely NOT! Our poles are permanent and are rated for 1000lbs+. All shapes, sizes, abilities, and ages are welcome.

How many students are in each class?

For Pole Dancing Classes, we have 8 poles, so everyone has their own pole. For floor classes, we limit the capacity to 12 students.

I’m pregnant, can I still participate?

Yes! Our staff are certified to teach Pre/Postnatal Pole and can modify any moves as needed. For anyone without previous pole experience, we don’t recommend starting pole while pregnant.

Is this studio only open to women?

Yes. EmbodiPole is a women-only embodiment and pole dance studio.

Our work is rooted in embodiment practices that speak to the lived experiences, conditioning, and challenges of modern women. We center feminine energy, sensual expression, and womb-based awareness, which tends to resonate most with those who identify as women and/or have lived experience in a female body.

If you feel a deep yes in your body and connect with the intention behind this space, you’re welcome.

If you’re unsure whether EmbodiPole is the right fit for you, you’re welcome to reach out and ask. We value honest conversation and are happy to connect. Please contact us here.
