FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EMBODIPOLE

Our pole studio policy & important information

Where are you located?

EmbodiPole and Sensual Arts is located at 85 Plymouth Street, unit B001 – Across the street from Drummond’s Gas on Bronson St. We are in the same building as RE/MAX.

What’s your cancellation and refund policy?

There are no refunds or make-ups for any classes or workshops.

Can I drop-in to classes as a non-member?

Yes! Non-members are welcome to book eligible drop-in classes at EmbodiPole.

If you’re new to the studio, we recommend starting with our 14 Days Unlimited offer so you can explore different classes, experience our teaching style, and get a feel for the community before deciding if membership is right for you.

Some classes may have prerequisites or experience requirements, so be sure to check the class description before booking.

What do I wear to class?

Each class description will list what you need to wear/bring.

Please bring a water bottle.

For safety, we ask that you remove rings and avoid using hand lotion before class.

Do I need upper body strength to get started with pole dancing?

No! You build strength as you go. We start with the very basics by learning transitions and spins and gradually learn how to climb and invert on the pole.

Do I have to wear heels or revealing clothing?

No. Wear what feels comfortable. Heels are optional unless specifically stated in the class description, and you never have to dress more revealing than feels right for you.

Are all pole and embodiment coaches certified?

Yes! All of our coaching staff are certified under Pole Teacher Training, and some carry more specialty certifications (like Pre/Postnatal Pole Specialist, Somatic Educator, Feminine Embodiment Coach, Personal Training, Registered Yoga Teacher, etc.).

Is there a weight limit to your poles?

Absolutely NOT! Our poles are permanent and are rated for 1000lbs+. All shapes, sizes, abilities, and ages are welcome.

How many students are in each class?

For Pole Dancing Classes, we have 8 poles, so everyone has their own pole. For off-the-pole classes, we limit the capacity to 12 students.

I’m pregnant, can I still participate?

Yes! Our staff are certified to teach Pre/Postnatal Pole and can modify any moves as needed. For anyone without previous pole experience, we don’t recommend starting pole while pregnant.

Is this studio only open to women?

Yes. EmbodiPole is a women-only space.

Our work is rooted in embodiment practices that explore the lived experiences, conditioning, sensuality, and self-expression of women. We intentionally create a space where women can feel safe to explore their bodies, energy, pleasure, power, and expression in community with other women.

If you’re unsure whether EmbodiPole is the right fit for you, you’re always welcome to reach out. We value honest conversation and are happy to connect.
